I noticed I last blogged 3 days ago and yesturday I was watching a movie that was released 3 years after the 2### answer in my 06/9/09 entry, the time on the clock I typed this sentence is 3:33...
For those of you who know me long enough, yes, lessons from God are also "free" as well :)
Anyhow I woke up late today as usual, it seems after the surgery, I've been sleeping in a lot lately likely because I can't sleep well when my hand is hurting and while I usually don't dream much or remember my dreams, I recently been having about 14 days of dreaming which seem to indirectly be relating to some things if you interpret them in a certain way...hence why I recently remarked "where's Daniel when you need him?" But when I woke up today, interestingly enough God told me to go look up Genesis 41:6, I decided to do a "check and balance" and I prayed to make sure that God indeed wanted me to look at this verse:
Genesis 41:6 (New International Version)
After them, seven other heads of grain sprouted—thin and scorched by the east wind.
Anyhow, this verse is actual part of Pharoah's dream when Joseph was exiled into Egpyt, God reminded me that Daniel is "not the only" person who can interpret dreams... It also reminded me of two other important things that "God is in control" and I should hang in there, continue trusting in God and persist in my recent struggle against my temptations with "strength"... The motivation being that God CAN and WILL deliever me...
Later I turned onwards in my bible and was brought to another book, Jeremiah, and I thought to myself, does this book even have 41 chapters and the voice of truth replied "yes"...
Jeremiah 41:6 (New International Version)
Ishmael son of Nethaniah went out from Mizpah to meet them, weeping as he went. When he met them, he said, "Come to Gedaliah son of Ahikam."
I don't believe this is the same Ishmael my friend ueed in his analogy on 05/22/2009 but the word "weeping" reminded me of one of 3 blog entrieS where the following was quoted: "weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning." [Psalm 30:5]
I wanted more, I was wondering what Isaiah 41:6 was and continued going further in my bible whe the voice of truth told me thst Isaiah comes before Jeremiah and "Boy was He right..."
Isaiah 41:6 (New International Version)
each helps the other
and says to his brother, "Be strong!"
"Be Strong" reminded me of a variety of things, but let me first quote 3 paragraphs from another blog:
-----------------------
...But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded." (vs 2-7) [2 Chronicles 15, but I've only included verse 7 here...]
if you seek, you will find.
and really, i had not been seeking.
want God to be with you? then be with him.
wasn't really doing that either.
but no matter how long israel was without God, they just had to seek after God, and he was found. sometimes, it's really hard to see God in certain circumstances. you can say all the christian cliche things to yourself and to others, but it's not really taken to heart. it's not living and active. but really look hard. really seek. be strong and don't give up. he will be found.
the passage continues to say how asa "took courage" (v8) and got rid of all the false idols from his land and the ones he captured. people from other tribes came and settled where he was "when they saw that the Lord his God was with him" (v9). as the king, he gathered all the people and they all "entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul...All Judah rejoiced about the oath because they had sworn it wholeheartedly. They sought God eagerly, and he was found by them. So the Lord gave them rest on every side." (v12, 15)

These are 1 of 3 entries written in close promixity to each other by one of the "3 bachelorettes", one of these entries was written 3 years ago on the same day I wrote one of my own. I hope she doesn't mind, she's also the first of the three of them to get married...I'm sorry after s_______ removal, my h___ hurts so I won't be able to drive for a while.
"We know that to find God and to accept Jesus Christ would be a very inconvenient experience. It would involve the rethinking of our whole outlook on life and the readjustment of our whole manner of life. And it is a combination of intellectual and moral cowardice which makes us hesitate. We do not find because we do not seek. We do not seek because we do not want to find, and we know that the way to be certain of not finding is not to seek." [John Stott, Basic Christianity, pg. 22]
Jeremiah 41:9 (New International Version)
Now the cistern where he threw all the bodies of the men he had killed along with Gedaliah was the one King Asa had made as part of his defense against Baasha king of Israel. Ishmael son of Nethaniah filled it with the dead.
...*3* verses later after Jeremiah 41:6 there is a mention of a "cistern" (Joseph was thrown into one of these by his half brothers [Genesis 37:22]) and also there is mention of 'King Asa' "as well"...
A friend of mine recently remarked that if people are in love, they would want to try to contact each other as much as possible. Well, God loves you [John 3:16, 1 John, 1 John 4:16] so by conclusion, He would and should be trying to contact/talk to us as much as possible according to my friend. Well guess what then? When we talk to God, He talks back... Albeit, we live in a society that is crazy about instant gratification and hence we can often expect an answer from God right away, an answer that may not come right away. But another issue we have at times is not listening.
God can use just about any means to speak to us at any time, but I believe our main issue is our hearts aren't always open to listen to what He's trying to say...
"Principle #3: Good communication doesn't happen by accident." [???]
Now of course, '3' is "not the only" way God is able to speak to me, He speaks in other ways as well, but due to my limited time and ability to type, recently my blog entries have only been focusing on the results of the "*3* prayer" I prayed myself 3 months ago and asked JC to pray for as well. Because I believe that God can use more interesting ways to speak to us at times when and if He so choose.
They were also showing the episode of Star Trek TNG where Picard is captured and interrogated by the Cardassians and the main interrogator kept asking him "How many lights do you see?" At the sides of the cell there are 3 blue lights/windows...
"All I had to do was say there was 5 lights when in fact there were only 4...I believed that I could see 5 lights..." [That episode]
Psalms 53 was also brought to my attention after I realized there are more seven letter words than names...
Now in conclusion when it was really noisy upstairs and I was unable to really read the passage for devo today, I went onto biblegateway.com to get the audio version and then I saw the verse of the day...

After seeing this as the verse of the day I wonder if these are only "lessons from above" or perhaps like lessons "like a dove" "as well..." "like you know..." "...voice of the holy spirit..." haha...
Isaiah 38:14
I cried like a swift or thrush, I moaned like a mourning dove. My eyes grew weak as I looked to the heavens. I am troubled; O Lord, come to my aid!"
Isaiah 59:11
We all growl like bears; we moan mournfully like doves. We look for justice, but find none; for deliverance, but it is far away.
1 comment:
Scene 1 Caspian realizes his calling, receives vision and "steps up" to lead the Narnians (perhaps Acts 9:19-31 is probably one passage I can think of that sorta parallels):
Prince Caspian: Two days ago, I didn't believe in the existence of talking animals... of dwarves or... or centaurs. Yet here you are, in strengths and numbers that we Telmarines could never have imagined. Whether this horn
[raises horn for all to see]
Prince Caspian (continues): is magic or not, it brought us together... and together, we have a chance to take back what is ours!
Scene 2 Failure and difficulties can cause tension, stumbling and for us turn against our own "family" (2 Corinthians 2:10-11):
Lucy Pevensie: What happened?
Peter Pevensie: Ask him.
Susan Pevensie: Peter!
Prince Caspian: Me? You could have called it off, there was still time.
Peter Pevensie: No there wasn't thanks to you. If you had kept to the plan those soldiers might be alive right now.
Prince Caspian: And if you just had stayed here as I suggested they definitely would be!
Peter Pevensie: You called us, remember?
Prince Caspian: My first mistake.
Peter Pevensie: No. Your first mistake was thinking you could lead these people
Peter Pevensie: [turns around and begins to walk off]
Prince Caspian: Hey!
Peter Pevensie: [Peter turns to look at him]
Prince Caspian: I am not the one who abandoned Narnia.
Peter Pevensie: You invaded Narnia. You have no more right leading than Miraz does.
[Caspian pushes past Peter]
Peter Pevensie: You, him, your father! Narnia's better off without the lot of you!
[Caspian and Peter draw swords intending to attack each other]
Scene 3: (LOL I don't know what to call this scene...but it was part of the quotes in imdb.com and I figure it's a good scene because it relates to my original post...) Umm maybe God works through other people not for prophesy, but for encouragement... (Proverbs 27:17)
Prince Caspian: [gives Susan her horn back] Maybe it's time you had this back.
Susan Pevensie: [gives the horn back] Why don't you hold on to it - you might need to call me again.
[a pause while Susan and Caspian exchange a long glance]
Lucy Pevensie: [quoting Susan as they ride off] "You might need to call me again"?
Susan Pevensie: Oh, shut up.
